The brand has been able to achieve full vertical integration of the solar panel manufacturing industry including silicon ingot, wafer formation, assembly of modules and construction of PV plants.

Q Cells has a wide range of choices for different sectors; residential, commercial, high-quality and low-budget as well to supply all the needs of the PV market.

Moreover, the company has manufacturing plants spread in three different countries: Korea, China and Malaysia.

1. Q Cells Q.Peak Solar Panels

The newest, top performing solar panel models of the brand are the ones from the Q.Peak series.

The Q Peak series is manufactured in Korea and offers the top monocrystalline technology of the industry.

These models integrate the Q.ANTUM technology based on high-efficiency solar cells with PERC technology that takes advantage of the rear side of the PV cell to reflect the photons that are not absorbed in the first contact layer and enables them to be absorbed when reflected.

This increases the efficiency of the cell and optimises the performance of the module.

The ultimate state of the art solar module from this series is the Q.Peak Duo-G5 model with a range of power capacity from 315-330 Wp.

The module is equipped with the highest efficiency value of the brand (19.9%), anti-LID performance, hot-spot protection, 6-busbar design and half-cell technology that reduces both current values and ohmic losses.

Other available modules are the Q.Peak Duo BLK-G5 model, which integrates half-cell technology, anti-LID, 6 bus bar design, efficiency values up to 19.3% and a dark black look to increase aesthetics of the PV array for Australian households.

Older models such as the Q.Peak-G4 and Q.Peak-G5 do not integrate 6 busbar technology or half-cell features. However, their performance is still outstanding for monocrystalline modules with efficiencies between 18.6% and 19.3%.

The best thing about these modules for the Australian market is their performance against salt air.

Salty conditions and high humidity are common in locations near beaches or the ocean and can have undesirable impacts such as corrosion and efficiency loss in the performance of solar panels.

However, Q Cells has designed the Q.Peak series to be salt/corrosion resistant and therefore guarantee the performance of their solar panels at 0 m from salt water.

That means you can have your house right on the beach, install your Q.Peak series modules and your PV system will work perfectly.

All the modules of the series have a 25-year performance warranty and a 12-year product warranty.

2. Q.Cells Q.Plus Solar Panels

The Q.Plus series is the main representation of polycrystalline technology in Q Cells.

Manufactured in Malaysia, they are designed with salt-corrosion resistance at 0 m from salt water, just as the Q.Peak Series are.

There are two main modules available in these series: Q.Plus L-G4 and Q.Plus BFR-G4.1.

The Q.Plus.BFR-G4.1 model has been designed mainly for the residential, commercial and industrial sector, providing high-performance with efficiency rates of 17.7% and integrated with Q.ANTUM technology.

Power ranges lie between 275 Wp - 285 Wp and can be installed in rooftop or ground-mounted PV systems.

On the other hand, the Q. Plus L-G4.2 technology is the strongest module of its type, especially designed for the utility sector and ground-mounted systems with efficiency values close to 17.8% and power outputs between 340-350 Wp.

 

3. Q.Cells Q.Power Solar Panels

Finally, we reach the Q.Power module; the low-budget, but good quality model from the brand, manufactured in China.

Q.Power-G5 offers a polycrystalline technology solution to reduce the levelised cost of energy (LCOE) of any PV project while at the same time offering reliability and longevity.

The product focuses on providing price affordability to the customer.

The module can be installed in 1,000 V systems with a maximum efficiency of 17.4% and power outputs between 270 Wp -280 Wp.

Mainly designed for the residential rooftop market of Australia.

An important difference when compared to the other models, is that this module is warranted against salt corrosion for homes located at least 200 m from salt water.

If your home or building is too close to the beach, it’s best to consider the Q.Peak or Q.Plus options.
